iPhone vs iPod Touch - What to Buy?

The iPhone and iPod Touch are two very similar devices. Aesthetically speaking, they are almost identical, with the lone differences being iPhone's Ag lining and iPod Touch's slightly littler and thinner physique. With the two both having very similar terms tags, people often land in a argument with themselves arguing over which is the better buy.

The 8GB iPhone was recently slashed to a very low-cost $399, a monolithic $200 decrease from the somewhat hopeful request terms of $599 (and that's before AT&T fees!). Steve Jobs introduced the terms cut by stating "we desire to set iPhones in a batch of stockings this Christmas" -- and that they will. Unfortunately, a $200 decrease is a far shout from what you'll be forking out to AT&T every month. Yes, buying an iPhone intends you'll be locked into a two twelvemonth long contract with AT&T, paying a lower limit $60/month. That is, of course, unless you wanted to pass even more than money on an unofficial legally-questionable unlock that'll liberate you from AT&T's grasp.

The iPod Touch, on the other hand, misses the telephone functionality (so obviously there's no contract required). For $100 less you're essentially receiving only the iPod and web browsing functionality of an iPhone, thanks to built-in WiFi. It's unfortunate that so many characteristics and applications were excluded from the iPod Touch -- the improver of a camera, even if it wasn't as "perfect" as the iPhone's, would really warrant the request price. With that beingness said though, custom-built applications would more than likely be conceived as both devices run off the same operating system.

So what should you buy? It all depends on personal preference. If you already have got a telephone but would wish something with head blowing "multi-touch" features, travel with the iPod Touch. If you're browsing around for a new phone, expression no additional than the iPhone. It is, without doubt, the best smart-phone to date.

Jeez for a splunk guy you don't seem to have a problem with the keyboard's lack of tactile touch. Its almost impossible to type accurately with the device. Not to mention the data service is slow! I hope in gen 2 they fix one if not both of the items. Windows mobile is the best phone on the market for data and other services.
